Eagle Scout Choir 2013

To:  Individuals interested in singing in the Eagle Scout Choir for the 100 year celebration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America.

On October 29, 2013 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will celebrate its 100-year affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America in the Conference Center. Those who attend will enjoy an evening of fond memories, a salute to dedicated leaders, inspiring and uplifting music and stories of strengthened lives. A large number of National and Regional BSA leaders will be in attendance.

An important part of this special evening will be the beautiful music performed by a 364-voice Eagle Scout choir. We are inviting youth and adults (including multi-generation family members) who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout to participate in the choir. Those who will be selected to participate in the choir need to have:
  1. A background in choral singing.
  2. The Ability to attend each of the rehearsals as indicated below. The rehearsals will be held in the Conference Center Theater.
  3. A complete Scout Uniform for the performance. A commemorative neckerchief will be provided.
  4. A missionary haircut and a clean-shaven face. 

For those who would like to apply, please complete the attached application. It must be received by the LDS-BSA Relationships Office by Monday, September 9th.

It is recommended that those interested in participating should live within 100 miles of the Conference Center. Email or fax the application to:

Those who are selected will be notified by email.  Each choir member will receive two tickets to the October 29th commemoration.

RehearsalsSunday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on September 15September 22September 29 and October 13.
Dress Rehearsals: Evenings of October 19October 22October 26,October 27 and October 28.
PerformanceOctober 29.

Teachers Quorum Super Activity July 24-27 2013


Hello Everyone!  This is going to be an awesome trip and I am going to try to break it down for you as best I can right now, but you will be receiving a full schedule in about a week as we get details ironed out.   We will keep the cost down as best we can…we will cap out at 120.00 per person but trying to be around 100.00 or less.  We shall see!

There are action items to this email so I need you to let me know by tomorrow if

1)   Your son(s) are going
2)   Dad is going

We have had GREAT success with Dad’s going on these trips, last year we only had a boy or two who’s Dad was unable to come, so PLEASE feel very much invited and wanted!

Wednesday, July 24th –

  • Fly Fishing (instruction and gear provided)
  • Campout, Fireside, etc.
  • Food - Dutch Oven Cooking (BBQ Chicken, Cheesy Potatoes, Cobbler), Sausages (Boys are making their own smoked sausages with Brother White the week before)

Thursday, July 25th –

      Hobart Junction
  • River Rafting  (Morning – we will be renting wet suits, this is a fun river, we will be doing two runs before lunch in 8-10 man rafts)
  • Climbing and Rappelling (Afternoon – there is a great climbing spot close to where we will be rafting)
  • Food – Breakfast Burritos (Sausage courtesy of the boys and brother white, breakfast type), Brother Smith’s world famous 12 hour spaghetti.  (He is a legend in his own mind)
  • Camping Jenny Lake Area
  • Picture of Hoback Rafting

Friday, July 26th –
               
  • Hiking up and around Jenny Lake (ridiculously beautiful)
  • Outdoor Activities
  • Jackson Hole to see “Footloose” where Tal’s cousin, (uncle or something) is performing in the revue theater there
  • Food – Breakfast Sandwiches, World Famous Mile High Pizza Pie restaurant
  • Camping Jenny Lake Area
