Manila Stake Merit Badge Roundup

When:           Saturday, March 23^rd 2013

Where:          Mahogany Building (3500 N 1270 W in PG)

Time:             8:00am – 11:00am

Ward:            Manila 7^th Ward

Merit Badge: Citizenship in the World

What to do before the Roundup:

1.     Complete requirement 7. 

2.     Print out a workbook and have number 7 completely filled out with a parent/guardian signature beside it.  Make sure your son remembers to bring the workbook and pen or pencil!

3.     Bring a blue card that is signed by your unit leaders. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR SON without one. The stake has asked that you bring a signed blue card to the roundups.

4.     Be on time and remain for the entire round up.  We will be completing so many requirements during the roundup; therefore, it is essential that your son remain the entire time.  We plan to make it informative, interactive and engaging – thank you for your support. If your son completes the prerequisite, he can earn the remainder of the merit badge that morning. 

5.     If you son is attending please email Dan Stansel at danielstansel@gmail.com and tell us your ward and son’s name.  We would just like to have a count ahead of time. 

6.  If your son is attending, please notify the above email by March 9th, 2013

Manila Stake - Teacher's Quorum / Varsity Team News Teacher's Quorum Advisors / Varsity Coaches, I have visited several quorums to observe how the new curriculum has been going, and it has been an inspiring experience.  I have been especially impressed when I see young men participate in the teaching and bearing testimony of the principles they teach.  I am looking forward to getting to visit with the rest of the quorums soon.  If you have not already, please be sure to review the online "Come Follow Me" training (link on the right).  It really helped me gain a vision of what the new curriculum is all about.  Our young men really are capable of amazing things! I am also excited that we have almost every ward planning on attending the Varsity Vision event now.  I am also thrilled that even Pres. McAllister has carved time out of his busy schedule to join us on staff.  My hope is that through this course, we can really understand how we can best use the Varsity program to bolster confidence in our young men's ability to lead and become who the Lord wants and needs them to become. Thanks for all you do, Curtis Varsity Vision Camp Update Now recruiting staff... We have a few opportunities for youth to join us on staff.  If you have a 14-18 year old young man in your ward  (preferably an eagle scout) that loves to lead and is good at it, please let me know asap. Manila Stake - Teacher's Quorum / Varsity Team News Teacher's Quorum Advisors / Varsity Coaches, I thought I'd try a different format for my emails to hopefully make them easier to scan and just get the information you need.  I'm also hoping that with this new format, I can get more information out in every email without making my emails look overwhelming.  We'll see how it goes. :-) Curtis Roundtable this Thursday! Hosted by the Alpine District Now that we've been switched to the Alpine district, normally  Roundtable will be held on the second Thursday every month, but it will be held on the first Thursday this month (February 7) since the second Thursday is Valentines.  See the right column for the address. Stake Fireside on Sunday At the Stake Center at 7pm for all youth 12 and up. Our stake presidency will be speaking to the youth about our 2013 Theme. Varsity Vision Camp Registration now online...
