2014 Manila Stake Basketball Schedule

 Deacon Basketball begins January 4th, 2014

Young Men's Stake Basketball begins January 11th, 2014.

Please do the following in the appropriate Ward organizations during the month of November/December.

1.  Organize your teams
2.  Make sure you have coaches and assistants for both Young Men's and Deacons League
3.  Begin practicing with your teams.
4.  Announce each Sunday in December the upcoming schedule

Please notify me with updated coaches and assistant information or if your ward will not be fielding a team this season.

2014 Young Men's Stake and Region Basketball Rules/Guidelines

  1. There will be TWO time outs each half per team. Time outs do not carry over from half to half or for any extra periods.  One time out per team per extra period.
  2. We will have two referees per game.   When your ward is assigned, please provide TWO referees.   Referee assignments are also on the schedule.
  3. Player Eligibility:
  • All players must be eligible for region play in order to play in the regular season. 
  • Any player that does not play during the regular season, can not play in the stake/region tournament.
  • A ward team can only be made up of young men who live with in the ward boundaries.  No borrowing players from other wards.
  • All players must decide to play either for their school or for the ward.   Any young man who participates in any way with a school team, can not play church ball.  (8th grade to 12th grade)
Any violation of player eligibility rules will constitute a forfeit and disqualification from any tournament play.   It is the responsibility of the Ward Young Men's leaders and coaches to make sure their players are eligible.   Please have your Bishop notify me if an exception is to be considered.
